Cuestiones historiográficas sobre la procedencia del tejido de la Síndone de Turín

Resumen

La Sábana Santa o Síndone de Turín y considerada la posible mor taja de Jesucristo fue analizada desde el punto de vista textil por varios especialistas. A partir de las descripciones aportadas por Raes, Vial, Flury-Lembert, Rogers y Barcaccia se evalúa en este estudio la compatibilidad con su origen en Israel, Egipto y la India en el siglo primero y en Europa en el siglo XIV. Su confección en sarga 3/1 en un telar horizontal de 4 ejes a pedales, la torsión Z, la presencia de algodón herbaceum o arboreum y la estadística de ADN encontrado en el polvo aspirado son algunas de las características que hacen difícil de encontrar una procedencia geográfica que cumpla con todo. Se postula una alternativa que intenta conjugar todos los datos.
