Abstract

79
This paper analyses the theoretical limits of the Celtiberian territory of the latter centuries BC, at the time of the Roman Conquest or later. This period, the Late Celtiberian (latter 3rd century - 1st century BC), seems to be a period of transition and profound change in the celtiberian world, wich most outstanding feature could be the trend towards an increasingly urban way of life. In addition to this, It is studied the historical process wich lasted unbroken from the formative période of the Celtiberian Culture -limited to the highlands of the Eastern Meseta at least from the 7th/6th centuries BC- to the Roman Conquest, and the cultural groups wich can sometimes be related with the populi known from the literay sources. For this final period, we have the information provided by the Archaeology, the historical sources and the epigraphic and linguistic evidences.
