Alejandro Marcos Pous was born in Valladolid and dealed his studies of History in Barcelona and Rome. He specialized himself in Roman and early Christian Archaeology in Italy by the concession of a scholarship of the C.S.I.C. He has worked mainly on Merida, Navarre, La Rioja and Cordoba. Among bis achievements outstand the creation of an archaeology department in the University of Navarre, the introduction of the modern ethnography in La Rioja; his activities with bis wife Ana Maria Vicent as the curator of the Provincial Museum of Cordaba at first and later in the Archaeological National Museum and, at last, bis posture for the Spanish Heritage's protection. His legacy exceeds his more than hundred publications, and his pupils occupy have now relevant charges related with the archaeological profession. AH of them feel great admiration and fondness.
