Since the editio princeps of González de Salas, Quevedo’s poetry has undergone a complex editing process, but never enjoyed a good textual annotation if we compare him with Garcilaso or Góngora, for instance. Once in the twentieth century, with Blecua’s edition, the textual quality is recovered, but not a systematic annotation. One will have to wait for partial editions of his poetry, satirical, moral, Canta sola a Lisi, Heráclito cristiano, to find the quality and quantity of approppiate interpretative annotation. Nevertheless, one should keep in mind that the usefulness of such annotations will only be improved if certain traditional criteria undergo a process of renovation: from the concept of sources to the very arrangement of successive annotated editions.
