About some effects of muscle extracts in relation to the problem of shock

Abstract
By means of the intracisternal injection of muscle extracts a light transitory increase of arterial presure is observed. The intravenous injection of a dose of strong hipotensive action determines an immediat decrease of arterial presure and it is observed in some cases that after normalisation, the pressure decreases again progressively and the animal dies with a typical manifestation of collapse.
From this fact the authors conclude that the collapsant toxic action is different from the vasodilatatory one.
