Abstract

A study is made of the temperature variations on different parts of the body in relation with glycemic variations on the dog. The results, obtained are compared with that of normal dogs, treated with aloxane and pancreatectomized, to whom 4 I.LJ. of insulin par Kg of weight was injected endovenously.

The results are expressed on a graphic on which i he temperature. can be seen on the upper half of the ordinales and the glycemic variations on its lower half expressed in grammes per thousand and the time elapsed on the abscissas.

It is observed that there is slight temperature decrease at the rectum accompaning the glycemic decrease and more pronounced at the ear on normal dogs. On the other hand, on the pancreatectomized and those treated with aloxane, there is an increase in the rectal and ear temperatures accompaning the glycemic decrease. The temperatures have been taken preferably at the rectum and ear on account of their variations being the most constant.

We interpretate these phenomenal as being of central action, being this hypothesis discussed.
