Abstract

This article analyses the contemporary situation concerning the mainstreaming of a gender perspective in multidimensional peacekeeping operations on the tenth anniversary of UN Security Council resolution 1325, «Women, Peace and Security». It suggests that gender must be recognized as a vital component of plans and programs to avoid, mitigate and resolve conflict situations, and to build sustainable peace.
