Abstract

The alterations on the electrophoretic patterns of albumin and globulin fractions in both embryo and endosperms of Pinus pinea seeds during artificial ageing have been investigated. The results show that the electrophoretic patterns of aged seeds are drastically different from those of seeds with high germination capacity. These alterations were observed even when the quantitative analysis did not show any significant changes.
