Effect of acetylcholine on the process of ventricular recuperation

Abstract
Acetylcholine modifies the process of ventricular recuperations. Its effects are similar to those of endocardio cooling.
Doses above 50 y produce besides variaticns of cardiac rhythm and frequency.
The modification of the recuperation process is not due to the vasodilatator action of acetylcholine nor to the action of the latter upon the cardiac parasympathetic system, but, rather to the direct action upon the cardiac muscle itself.
Atropine eliminates the effect of acetylcholine on cardiac recuperation, rhythm and frequency.
