On chemical composition of the white bodies" in certain Cephalopoda"

Abstract

Some authors (Cazai, and Bogoraza, Bolognary) have described particular formations in the white bodies of ccpha- lopoda, which are characterized by Chemical and histochemical reactions typical of purinic compounds. A conclusive Identifi­ cation of these compounds has not been obtained up till thc present and consequently there are no cuantitative data.

In the present communication the first results are reported, obtained by applyng the appropriate analytic technics, specially Kvith paper chromatography and paper electrophoresis on the white bodies of the various cephalopoda examined.
