Purification of chorionic gonadotropin by means of the adsorption on caolin and elution with alcoholic solution of ammonium acetate

Abstract
A purifií€cation method of corionic gonadotropine from low titlc preparations (150 000 - 300 000 Ul/g) has been staplished, based on theí€ high adsorbing power of caolin and the high eluent capacity of the ammonium acetate in alcoholic solution (10 % ammonium acetate in 38 % alcohol).
The procedure allows purifications from 5 up to 10 times (maximum activity of 1.500.000 Ul/g) with a yield of 80 % in respect to theí€ initial activity.
The method is also useful, without great difficulties, in an industriai level, obtaining theí€ same yield and enrichment as in the laboratory.
