Abstract

Rats and rabbits received a test meal of cholesterol-4-1‘,C per os. The radioactivity was assayed in the unsaponifiable and biliary acid fractions of the feces during seven days follo- wing the test meal. It was found that the excrétion of biliarj’’ acids derived from radioactive cholestérol is much higher in the rats than in the rabbits. The significance of this resuit is discussed.
