Studies on the biochemistry of insects. VIII. Quinone derivatives of the cuticle of pupae of Calliphora erythrocephala

Abstract
We carry out the chromatographic study of the quinone derivatives from the cuticle of the Dipter Callipjiora eritrocephala by using silicated and non-silicated paper, as well as different developers. The quinone compounds we found were: 4-methyl-cathecol, p-quinone, and 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid ; another more was not yet identified and it coul be phenylpyru- vic acid or its 3,4-dihj'droxylated derivative.
