Abstract

We carry out the chromatographic study of the quinone derivatives from the cuticle of the Dipter Callipjiora eritrocephala by using silicated and non-silicated paper, as well as different developers. The quinone compounds we found were: 4-methyl-cathecol, p-quinone, and 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid ; another more was not yet identified and it coul be phenylpyru- vic acid or its 3,4-dihj'droxylated derivative.
