The influence of sex hormones on the glucose tolerance curve

Abstract
A study is made of the influence on the glucose tolerance curve of pullet, chicken and rabbit that the previous injection of various sex hormones has (Testosterone propionate, estradiol benzoate, synthetic estrogen [dicthyl-estilbestrol] and progesterone).
A general depressor action is observed on the tolerance curve, but it is statistically significative in the pullets (with testosterone and estradiol) and in the chickens (progesterone, synthetic estrogen and estradiol).
An action of the sex hormones upon the secretion of insuline is suggested according to the hipertrophic and hiperplastic effeets on the pancreas beta cells; this is brought out in the bibliography.
