Abstract

We have done dosifications of intracellular potassium (in liver and muscle tissues) of rat foetuses, with a date of pregnancy of 16 1/2, 17 1/2, 18 1/2, 19 1/2, 20 1/2 and 21 1/2 days. We have concluded that the evolution of this intracellular potassium in those phasis is parallel to the evolution of the extracellular potassium and the potassium blood level in the same stages. It’s observed a decrease of the potassium intra and extracellular at 19th % days. They have been performed experiences tending to get evidence if there is pituitary control by the foetal gland of this discrement observed at the 19th 1/2 days stage. The intracellular sodium contení was found unchanged in all the cases studied.
