Abstract

We describe some modifications to the immunoassay of insulin (Yalow-Berson method). The insulin was labelled with I125 instead of I131 and cromatography was done at room tem- perature instead of high voltage cromatoelectroforesis at 4o C. The purification of labelled hormone filtering through Sephadex was very simple and efficient. The disadvantages of using labelled insulin I 125 were resolved increasing the width of cromatographic paper, the volumen of the applied sample and using a good radiactivity counter.

This modifications reduce considerable the cost of the method and makes it very useful for its use in any laboratory without special equipment.
