Abstract

The radiation with fractionary doses of UV of 2,537 A causes malformations and slowness in growth in Nicotiana rustica L. plants, which are more noticeable the higher the doses is. It seems that UV of 2,537 A is a obstacle to the synthesis of the nucleic acids, since the contents in plants subjected to this radiation decreases proportionally to the intensity of the radiation. Concurrently there is a slowness in the growth and a decrease in the absolute contents of protein.
