The influence of thyroxine on absorption intestinal monosaccharides

Abstract
We study the effect of a treatment with thyroxin on the absorption of various monosaccharides in the intestinal loop of rats and frogs. In rats, the absorption of glucose and galactose will de crease by 30 or 40 %,·whereas the manose and the xylose will suffer no modification. Similar results will be found in frogs with glucose and xylose.
The secretion of phosphorus in intestinal light will be perturbed by the thyroxin in a manner analogous to that of suprarenal ablation. The foil of the absorptive capacity of glucose and ga1actose can partly be corrected with corticosuprarenal hormon.
We interpret the results obtained by the intervention of suprarenals and thyroids, as an endochryne pair, in the phosphorilizations. The process of glycemia during the absorption shows that incompatibility does not exist between these results and the well known hyperglycemia postprandial from the hyperhtyroidism.
