Abstract

The Effect of Aminoacids on the Sugar Absorption by Rat Small Intestine, in vivo. Rev. esp. Fisiol., 30, 111-118. 1974.

The effect of 20 mM L-leucine, L-glicine or L-arginine on the in vivo absorption of D-glucose and D-galactose (at concentrations 20, 4 and 2 mM) by rat small intestine

has been studied.
The presence of the aminoacids significatively inhibits the absorption of sugars.

The inhibitions are somewhat higher when the sugar is D-galactose, and the best time of absorption to show them is that of 5 minutes.

No relationship has been found between percent inhibition and initial sugar concentration.
