Contribution to the experimental study of Traumatic shock

Abstract

We accomplish a series of tests of experimental shock in dogs, provoked by means of a cisternal injection of a buffer solution of potassium phosphates. After an initial phase of hipertension, the arterial presion falls progresively and the tipical scene of shock is established. We accept as an explanation of the probable fundamental mechanism unchaining of the irreversibility of the process, the profound metabolical disease of tissues, by the consequence of the durable and generalizated isquemie.
