Modification to the "Hewitt" method for the delipidization of serum proteins without denaturing them

Abstract
From all experimental data outlined in this work we could assure the existence of two substances contained in the Allium sativum extract, the biological properties oi which can be briefly condensed as follows:
1st. Antiseptic substance, slightly hypotensive bowel paralyzing and weakly cardiac tonic.
2nd. An unantiseptic action substance of no rate, highly hypotensive, weak promoter of intestinal vigour (tone) and almost without cardiac action.
Both active substances have quite a different Chemical character, allowing their rather simple segregation.
