Action of ascorbic acid on intestinal glucose absorption

Abstract

The action of ascorbic acid by venous injection, on the intestinal absortion of glucose in dogs, by means of Kokas-Ludany technique is studied. The C vitamines increases the glucose absortion in a 9-37,5 per cent of cases and it is observed a tendence to the diminution of glucemic numbers.
