An index of adrenal function in the rat

Abstract
A simple method to messure steroids in rats’urine is described. Steroids in rats’urine do not change after gonadectomy, they increase after ACTH administration. They decrease and resapear after adrenalectomy or after dexametasone administration. Urine steroids as measured by this method could be a good index of the adrenal cortex activity in the rat.
