Influence of fasting on absorption intestinal glucose

Abstract

We study the fasting effects on the intestinal absorption of monosaccharides in the rat intestine and we constate that the intensity of the absorption decreases in function of the fasting prolongation.

We suggest several interpretation of this fact accordingly to the decrease of the glucose tolerance which it is observed in similar experimental conditions.
