Abstract

199
In 1993, the World Bank adopted the Resolutions establishing the Inspection Panel as an internal administrative body to monitor compliance with operational and policies guidelines of the Bank in their lending decisions. From then until our days, the Inspection Panel has defended its independence and its functions so that de facto the Panel has exercised a quasi-jurisdictional legal review, as it follows from the analysis of over eighty inspection requests.
