Since February 2011, the civil war in Libya raises to the international community the challenge of its responsibility to protect civilians against serious violations of their human rights. Among other measures, the Security Council authorizes a limited use of force with humanitarian purposes. However, the outcome of NATO intervention raises reasonable doubts on the adequacy of international action with that «responsibility to protect».
