This article discusses the work of the national and international commissions that have investigated the boarding, by Israel, of the so-called Freedom Flotilla on May 31, 2010. The article includes, in fine, a series of conclusions regarding the three legal issues considered most important, namely, (i) the legality of the establishment of the naval blockade by Israel, (ii) the legality of the boarding undertaken by Israel to enforce the mentioned blockade, and finally, (iii) the compliance of Israel’s actions with the norms of international humanitarian law and international human rights law during and after the boarding.
