Diplomatic incidents do not usually pose major challenges to international relations. This article analyzes their impact when the political reactions they mobilize affect the social body, forcing citizens to take sides. Their political consequences vary according to the degree of affection and social reaction that an incident generates, as they highlight the nexus between State and citizenry.

RIGHTS TRANSFER
