Abstract

The limitless growth of large transnational corporations, sponsored by an international economic law that is tailor-made for them, questions the effectiveness of international law. This article aims to analyse the international legal regulation of these companies and to provide alternatives for implementing a stricter legal regime with respect to the observance of human rights. In particular, it explores the possibility of complementing existing soft law mechanisms with binding norms at the international level.
