The United Kingdom's decision to withdraw from the European Union triggered, for the first time, the mechanism provided for this purpose in Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union. This article provides an in-depth analysis of the letter of this provision and how its text has been applied in the Brexit process, with particular reference to the Guidelines issued by the European Council and the Agreement of 8 December 2017 by which the United Kingdom accepted the conditions imposed.

RIGHTS TRANSFER
