En la segunda mitad del siglo XX, la noción tradicional del sujeto humano como fuente de pensamiento y acción fue criticada por Foucault, Althusser y otros. Foucault llamó a esta crítica “la muerte del sujeto”. En este trabajo busco mostrar que podemos encontrar, ocurriendo al mismo tiempo, el desarrollo de una concepción del ser humano como fuente de pensamiento y acción que resiste esta “muerte”, a saber, la teoría de la acción de Arendt y la noción de sujeto de Badiou. Lo que une a estos dos pensadores es que conciben el sujeto como plural (es decir, compuesto por varios individuos) y como constituido por un principio (es decir, unificado por una idea rectora).
