The human’s tendency towards anthropomorphism raises a difficult controversy within the popularization of science, but what role does anthropomorphism play in science diffusion? Scientists have been attempting to resolve this question since the middle of the 19th century. In addition, this controversy is also debated within the communication field, in particular, among wildlife film makers, who most frequently deal whit this serious dilemma. To know the experts’ and producers’ opinion about anthropomorphism will allow us to agree on a possible legitimacy of this practice as a tool to disseminate science through television. An example of this agreement is observed in the analysis of El Hombre y la Tierra: the most popular scientific popularization documentary series in Spain.
