The introduction of digital radio and television has brought about a major change. It opens the way to more channels, programmes and services, more independence and greater choice on the part of the user, and better quality of sound and images. We look at these aspects, at the distribution of the signal (wich follows clasical system: cable, satellite and terrestial broadcasting), and the reception; and decoder as important elements, wich are the element of controversy. The new medium also affects the contents, in terms of both quality. The article concludes with some brief reflections concerning the inmediate future.

RIGHTS TRANSFER
