About the Journal
With the arrival of Project Memoirs, the School started to have at its disposal a new means of creative dialogue, a means which facilitated reflection on the pedagogical praxis and the results of the teaching with regard to the development of the skill of the students to create and undertake a project. Project Memoirs was published periodically, and aimed at regularly bringing together a representative sample of work of the School.
Each issue includes images taken mainly from the most outstanding exercises completed during the current academic course in the subjects of 'Analysis of Form', 'Elements of Composition' and 'Projects'.
The breadth of selection, the resulting compression of the sample and the absence of critical evaluation complied with the wish that the magazine eminently constitute an opening for the identification and exhibition of the general orientation of teaching in the different workshops and the levels of ideas and project work reached in the School´s lecture halls.
As a result the goal was to give predominance to the overall idea of the course, themes on particular topics and specific designs, with the focus on pedagogic emphasis and methodological strategies. This then, was the first step in a stimulating and necessary exchange of ideas which, both within and outside the School itself served as a measure of the appropiacy of the teaching praxis to the social needs and cultural tendencies with relative to architecture.
