This article sets out the various perceptions that the Vendée counterrevolutionary reaction provoked in Spain and how they were used throughout the nineteenth century to justify and legitimize the political cultures of liberals and traditionalists. Although preferably analyzes historiographical and political visions, there are also included some notes on his influence on popular culture, primarily through translations and adaptations from french narratives.
