La nueva eugenesia se basa en la liberalización del aborto eugenésico, la selección de embriones y la edición génica de los mismos. Tras revisar los antecedentes históricos, se resumen los avances científicos que dan lugar a esta nueva forma de eugenesia que se presenta como terapéutica, mejoradora de la población humana y garante de la libertad procreadora. A continuación se indican los principales argumentos que demuestran que en realidad esconde una contundente agresión al ser humano libre. Están en juego el descarte de los débiles y defectuosos, la pérdida de la igualdad en la consideración de las personas y la libertad de construirse a uno mismo y ser agentes de nuestras vidas. Se discute cómo el proceso, que dejará a millones de embriones en el camino, quizá no sea tan viable como se dice gracias a la complejidad del genoma. Se pretende hacer una llamada de atención para saber a lo que nos enfrentamos y exigir un profundo diálogo sobre las consecuencias de lo que podemos llegar a hacer para las generaciones futuras.
