Abstract

The presence in the aortic wall of mucopolisaccharides sugested the presence in thesame of enzymatic systems and specially of uridinic coenzymes involved in theí€ biosynthesis of these compouds.

The acid soluble nucleotides, extracted from calf aortic wall homogenates, have been adsorbed on formolated Dowex-1 resin columms, after Hurlbert and PoTTER, and succesively eluted with formic acid and ammonium formate.

The nucleotids present in the various fractions of the eluate were identified by the ultraviolet absorption spectres, and reconfirmed by paper chromatography compared with pure nucleotides standard.
