Action of lipoxidase on arterial pressure. I

Abstract
The injection of 10 mg/kg or 20 mg/kg of lipoxidase to the cat, auesthetized with chloralose, induces a marked de crease in the blood pressure together with the inhibition of the reflex effects of the carotideal occlusion and a marked po- tentiation of the hypertension induced by epinephrine. On the contrary, in animáis previously atropinized, as in the spinal cat, the hypotension induced by lipoxidase is less marked and the potentiation of epinephrine does not occur. There is, instead, a tendency to inhibition.
The results of these cxperiments qje briefly considered. Particularly so that different responses observed in vagotomized and in atropinized animáis. Also, the similitudes observed in the vascular reactions of the animáis observed with lipoxi dase and those reported by several authors in animáis submitted to radiations are also pointed out.
