Pathogenesis of adrenaline collapse. II Influence of traumatizing factors

Abstract
A description is given of the influence that the recording of blood pressure with intraarterial canulas has upon the evolution of adrenaline collapse and crush-syndrome.
Dogs injected by intravenous routes with adrenaline at the rate of 8 gammas/kg. and per minute, are killed with a sixty minutes perfusion when blood pressure is recorded, and a five hours one if this surgical procedure is omited. Also to produce a lethal crushsyndrome in a dog it requires a four hours constriction when blood pressure is recorded; meanwhile it is indispensable to delay this ischaemia until five hours when the animal undergoes no surgical operation.
