The effect of chlorpropamide on glucemia

Abstract
A study has been made of the effects of [1-(p-chlorobenzenosulphonil)-3-propyl-urea], on administration through the blood at different points, in normal dogs, anaesthetized with chloralose.
Blood-samples have been taken at 30, 60 and 90 minutes after the injection of the sulphamide. Normal glucemia was considered to be that at 15 minutes after the anaesthesia.
The chlorpropamide was injected (mg/Kg) in: saphenous, jugular, abdominal aorta (above or below the kidney), thoracic aorta or internal carotid (saving the glomus or not).
Some hypoglucemic effect is observed only by saphenous and jugular. The results by the other procedures are not significant.
