Abstract

The influence of several compounds and experimental con- ditions on L.glutamic acid decarboxylase of Lupinas albus has been studied. Unusually, the enzyme in thc crude cxtract ex- hibits more activity when stored — only few hours — at 30° C, whereas at 4o C the enzimatic activity is strongly damaged. The effect of fluoride is considcred. The data obtained suggests an extensivo disociation of coenzymc at 4o C and the partial inha- bility for recombination when the enzyme is rcturned at room temperatura.

Glutathion is a high effective activator and a.ketoglutarate inhibits competitively. The results of these experiments and those obtained in the research about EDTA and metáis action on this enzyme are specially discussed.
