Absorption of N-acetylglucosamine by the rat's intestine

Abstract
The study of the absorption of the N-acetyl-glucosamine is made in the in testino of white rats, weighing between 200-250 g.
The quantitative determination of this monosaccharide was made by the Mor gan and Elson’s method, scarcely modified.
We have deducted that the velocity of absorption of the N-acetyl-D-glucosamine is less than that of the D-glucose, being practically constant through the four periods of absorption studied in each animal.
