Behavior of seromucoid fractions and plasma proteins in dogs with bilateral adrenalectomy

Abstract
This paper puts forward data from 10 adrenalectomized dogs. The experiment was divided in three parts: i) Acute period; ii) Chronic period with compensatory therapeu tic; iii) Chronic period without compensatory therapeutic. In all three periods estimations of seromucoid fractions (tyrosine, hexoses and sialic acid), proteins and lipoproteins were made and compared with normal conditions. The results show important changes in hexoses and sialic acid and in the plasma proteins a progressive increase in the differents parts of the experiment. The protein fractions showed an increase in alpha-2-globulins and in y-globulins. The authors try to explain all these facts from the physiopathological point of view.
