Abstract

Human and rat, polycythemic and normal plasma were injected subcutaneously during ten consecutive days in normal Swiss mice. A significative decrease in the per centage of Bone Marrow erythroblast were obtained at the third day after the last plasma injection, without any change in Hematocrits, Hemoglobin, reticulocytes, Red Blood Cells counts and R.BC. Fe59 incorporation. The marrow red cell depression continued after seven days, with a recovery at day ten. The possibility of the presence of an inhibitory factor in normal human plasma and the role of the Spleen in mice erythropoiesis is discussed.
