Effect of amphetamine on some seric lipid constants

Abstract
Effect of Amphetamine on Some Serie Lipid Constants. Rev. esp. FisioL, 30, 27-30. 1974. This work studies some lipid constants by administration of amphetamine (4 mg/kg of body weight, daily and by oral route through gastric catheter).
Lots of ten rats have been utilized, separately males and females. Serum triglyc- erides, fatty acids and glycerol free and total lipids were determined. The trial lasted 30 days and the analytical tests were done on the 7th, 15lh and 30lh day.
There was metabolic difference between males and females duri'ng the- 30 days experiment. Triglycerides were decreased and fatty acids increased and the males. Glycerol did not change and total lipids were decreased.
Females showed an increased of thiglycerides together with a decreased of fatty acids and glycerol. There was no variation of total lipids.
