Some observations on the electroencephalographic manifestations of the electroencephalographic manifestations of mental activity and emotional reactions

Abstract

We are reporting certain results observed during the systematic study, made on normal persons, of the electro encephalographic manifestations of mental activity and of the influence of emotional processes, with proper evidence to the effect that it is possible to obtain, during the solution of abstract problems, graphical reproductions of waves entirely analogous to those obtained in psychic passivity, and that the coexistence of emotional factors with mental work can manifest itself in the shape of a discharge of slow waves probably originated in the hypothalamus.
