Action of the Bainbridge reflex on pulmonary circulation

Abstract
1) By distention of the right auricle and the ouftall area of the upper caval vein a hypertension is produced in the pulmonary circuit.
2) According to the results of our experiments, this hypertension seems to be originated, fundamentally, by a reflex dilatation of the pulmonary vessels.
3) This reflex probably belongs to the so-called axonic reflexes.
