On histamine-sympathine regulatory antagonism

Abstract
There have been obtained extracts of different organs with a marked adrenergic power, such as has been proved by their behaviour in the presence of arterial pressure in cats and dogs. After a study of the behaviour of histamine in the dog parallel with of its blood pressure under the effect of sympathin, it has been seen that whilst in eight tests, the values of b. p. increased in average figures from 14.8 to 17.5, the histamine in the blood also increased from 0.6 gammas to 1.05 gammas per 100 ml.
The behaviour of sympathin in the loop of the guinea-pigs having been studied, the antihistaminic and antiacetylcholinic effect has been proved.
