Physiopathology of glutathione. 2nd communication

Abstract
In the 30 syphilitic individuals studied there is a disminution of 83 per cent in the G. T., of 20 per cent in the oxidated and of 96,6 per cent in the reduced; this disminution affects most intensely the G-SH. By comparison of the results obtained we observe the diminution to be in direct rate to the positivity of serology, in what refers to the cyphers of the G. T.
In the blood serum there exists also a diminution of the G. T. and the oxidated and reduced fractions of it, but this diminution is more intense in the oxidated form, wherefore; glutation is represented in the reduced form, whilst in normal individuals it is in the oxidated form.
In all those cases where synthetic glutation was added to the tubes of the Wassermann reacction, the anticomplementary power of the serum disappeared. Glutation intervenes in the serological response of syphilitic patients and plays a part in the reactivation of the complement.
