What the Land Knows, Fill Remembers

Resumen
[El relleno] es tanto un proceso como un producto. En este artículo se traza la evolución, al igual que las implicaciones de las definiciones cambiantes del relleno —material generado mediante demolición y excavación que se utiliza para crear nuevas formas del terreno— a través de su aplicación en tres paisajes artificiales a lo largo de la costa del lago en Toronto: el Leslie Street Spit, Ontario Place y el parque de Humber Bay. Al hacerlo, se consideran los recuerdos que encarna la materia reubicada. Siguiendo su recorrido por variadas composiciones materiales y a medida que va aumentando la concienciación de su impacto en el agua, en este artículo se busca entender cómo los nuevos paisajes hechos con material antiguo se inscriben con historias estratificadas de transformación física y política.
